Photography is the single most important tool used for advertising campaigns. Marketing directors could spend hours coming up with innovative and eye-catching headlines explaining the benefits of the product, but an image is what attracts the viewer first.
It's also usually the last thing that the viewer remembers from the advertisement.
Advertisement images could be used on billboards, magazine or newspaper ads, on posters, and on flyers.
After discussing with the client on their wants and needs, the final outcome is made pretty clear to avoid surprises at the end.
The photographer has to be clear with what the company wants to produce with that particular ad. They must know the type of image they must capture and the messages they want to communicate.
Canon PowerShot D10 – Underwater Camera 35-105mm
Advertising Agency: Leo Burnett & ARC Worldwide, Bangkok, Thailand
Photo above is part of an advertising campaign of the Canon PowerShot D10. The Powershot D10 is an underwater camera.
With photoshop as the tool to merge images together, the message being shown is showing how good this camera is and how clear it can take photos or videos underwater.
It is a very strong advertisement.
People in a Jacuzzi relax and enjoy the water. Jets seem to be off, which shows how the bottom half is a photo of the jacuzzi with no water, merged with the top part which is actually taken underwater.
It is taken below eye level, being worm view.
